My Other Big Brother

Jason Fadness, where do I start?

Jason Fadness, forever we keep in our heart.

We were new to the neighborhood and he befriended my brother,

And many late nights he spent confiding in my mother.

Brace face, Metal Mouth, he called me them all,

Yet he was always there to catch me should I ever I fall.

Blasting Jay Z, with John sitting shotgun to school,

Me and Sarah in the back seat, feeling oh so cool.

You could find him asleep on our living room couch, 

Late for work and sleepy but never a grouch.

His signature scream, high-pitched, girly and loud,

Helped us locate him, when lost in a crowd.

 Running into our home, “YO” he would yell,

Excited, because he always had stories to tell.

Our adventure in Vail in 2002,

Jason’s wrist was broken as soon as the wind blew.

Our trip to Cancun in 2003,

We were boarding the plane and he was nowhere to be.

Our time at the bay, karaoke he would sing,

He would pick “Chattahoochee” for all the smiles it would bring.

Snowboarding in Wintergreen, I remember the trip,

When Jason perfected his amazing back flip.

His weekend’s at JMU... Well... We were never privy to,

Those were the stories that never leaked through.

Never a fighter yet he could always talk smack,

John would intercept the punches; yep he had Jason’s back.

But once it did come time to fight or take flight, 

Jason stood between John and the Harm on that night

Money was something that would come and go,

When he had it he would share, when he didn’t… well trust me… you would know.

Jason’s dad Jeffery, they were close as can be,

Not just a dad but a best friend was he.

A little brother to Jenny, he thought the world of,

Just by mentioning her name, his eyes shined with much love.

Jason had proclaimed he would never settle down,

Then he fell in love with Kelly, and this turned him around.

John and Jason, had a bond stronger then brothers,

No more words needed they just loved each other.

His posse includes, John, Wills, David Jun, Tim, Bill, Kevin, Craig, Buddy, James, Matt, Rathbone and Gianni just to name a few. 

 Together they were invincible, oh the stories do tell

Of the true Jason Fadness we all know and love so well.

God gave us Jason so nobody forgets,

Live life to it’s fullest with no regrets.

Jason was one of a kind, you will know no other,

And I am blessed to have him as,

My Other Big Brother.
